Melbourne Cup saw ‘The Race The Nation Tried To Stop’ return for another year of Territory style celebrations.

With the race track ready, Crocodylus Park arriving with the crocodiles and Katie Wolf from Mix 104.9 reporting live it was set to be a day to remember.

Our awesome team was on hand, dressed as jockeys to take on the day – selling race tickets, pouring cold drinks and serving delicious food to all.

Dan had created a selection of Melbourne Cup Cocktails;

  • Mandarin and Mint Gin Spritz
  • Mango Crush
  • Raspberry and Lychee Cooler
  • Orange and Vanilla Blitz

These refreshing cocktails were perfect for the day, making that warm weather more bearable.

With three successful croc races completed and three lucky winners bagging the winnings it was time to start ‘Fashions in the Bush’.

With Men, Women and young people being asked to strut their stuff down our racetrack turned runway in a bid to win the hearts of onlookers and take home some awesome prizes.

The competition for ‘Fashions in the Bush’ was truly on this year. With a fabulous turn out of beautiful frocks, plenty of crocs and some show stopping hats/fascinators.

The catwalk strutting was definitely a highlight, with a strong strut game from the male competitors and a more calm and classy stride from the ladies.

Overall, it was another awesome Melbourne Cup Day surrounded by great people, plenty of cold drinks and delicious food. The Race the Nation Tried to Stop continues… but will it be back next year. Watch this space!
